Installation problems
#1

Hey.

I decided today i wanted to install linux on my Dell pc, so i downloaded the Ubuntu 8.04 install CD, and had no problems installing it. However, i could only choose 320x240 and 640x480 resolutions, which was not satisfying for me, and trying to solve that problem, i did somthing wrong in the configuration, so linux could not start. I formatted my hard drive, and tried to install Ubuntu again, but now the CD boot screen did not show the menu, where i could use my up and down arrows and enter button on my keyboard, so i could not select the Install option.

I hope you can help me.:)

Hi, I solved the problem.

It was not enough to use the F12 boot menu, i had to set the CD-rom drive first in the boot order in the Dell bios.
