New to Mandrake and Linux
#1

Hello all. Nice to be here!

Okay, I just installed Mandrake 10. I have always been a MS person not because I did not like the other side, but I did not know the other side. I have heard and read a lot about Linux so I figured I would give it a try with something I love. I want to move my web site from MS based to Linux. I have installed the proper package for Apache and MySQL. When I go to my browser and type "Localhost" it returns the default page that says la di da da it works. Then replace the file with my web pages and it should work. My question is, where is localhost at? Where should I save the files for my site? And last, how do I configure MySQL for the database? Sorry for such noob questions but I am a noob.

Regards,

i'm not sure about mandrake but if its apache then more than likely the localhost 'web page' is located at

/var/www/htdocs/public_html/

try it and see
