I've never used Linux, but I've always wanted to.

My problem is that I grew up on Windows, and I don't know anything else. I'm buying a laptop this weekend (an old one) for the sole purpose of stripping it and dropping Linux on it. I want to get up to speed. So please be patient, as I've got tonnes of learning to do. :/

Btw, I'm a college student. Male, and 20 years old. Born and raised in SC in the USA. This year I'm hoping to be studying at Waseda University in Tokyo. Wish me luck. [img]<___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_laugh.png[/img]

welcome to the forums man. i think the majority of us has the same bckgrnd as you when it comes to windows pc's, so your not alone. feel free to ask anything to help smooth yer way into the linux world.
