Mplayer codec prob

i made a mistake and downloaded the jdk-1_5_0_08-linux-i586.bin and not the jdk-1_5_0_08-linux-i586-rpm.bin and i think it conflicted with my mplayer playing on my firefox. whats the command or steps i should do to delete the jdk-1_5_0_08-linux-i586.bin and do i have to reinstall some other codecs to make it work?

what error are you getting when you try to start mplayer (do it in a terminal, and paste the ERRORS here please) cheeers anyweb

actually i didn't get no error... its just that when i want to view any media player links thru my firefox. the mplayer skin is only showing but the content plays for a second then stops.

unless i'm missing some codecs... is there a command to list my codecs i already installed?!
