Easiest way to upgrade

I am completely new to Linux. And this is my first post on this site.

I am currently running Fedora Core 2 (installed for a class I am currently enrolled in).

I am having issues installing applications because most of them are no longer available or supported.

I think it might be wise to upgrade to the current version of Fedora.

What would be the easiest way to go from Fedora Core 2 to the current release of Fedora?

My guess would be to download the current version and do a completely new install, but I wanted to

ask first.

you are correct, download Fedora 7 (or wait a few days and download F8) and get with the program, or rather, get current, the differences in the new releases are overwhelming compared to what you are using now.

 

Forget FCR2 and move on, times have changed very very quickly

Thanks for the info. I figured as much.

FC2 was the install that came with the textbook for the intro to Linux class I am in.

No idea why its that old of a version, but its what I got.

Now its time to try some of what I have learned and upgrade.
