yes, except that I didnt change any repo's at all, or mixed packages, I just issued an

Code:
apt-get upgrade


command which on any apt based system should perform an upgrade of the installed packages. I would assume that PCLinuxOS would have configured their repo's correctly so that this could be accomplished, but maybe not.

 

anyways, I'm now installing PCLinuxOS on another machine here for laffs to get a better idea of the distro, except this time i'm doing a dist-upgrade to be sure to be sure.
