Where did you get the weather thingie? I like. Screenshot of broken monitor - anyweb - 2004-01-08 i like it too and i have the same questions as Kzo, so go on vemon, tell us where ya got the goodies, it looks like gnome to me, is it ? and where did you get the weather applet, and the other stuff, looks good :) cheers anyweb Screenshot of broken monitor - Oroshi - 2004-01-08 Alright dude :) i will explains you where i get those from.. 1. the software called gdesklets doing those things u can downlaod from RPM (works), 2. you need to download some senosr and display from gdesklets with display & sensor 3. unpack in folder whatever you want - i use /home/venom/Display/ weather forcecast is GoodWeather. extract it in /home/venom/Display/GoodWeather. open that folder and double click or run the Install*.bin <--- sensor. then in Terminal, to load up the display on your desktop. you need to run the gdesklet (background) 1st. then, to load the display type: gdesklets /home/venom/Display/GoodWeather/GoodWeather.display now the weather show up on your desktop. Other things, on the right hand side is: LTVariations in Misc -> Misc. bottom pandle - launcher can be found in Toolbars amd launchers, i use: StartBar Once you change the settiongs, possision etc.. and it just display like that all the time, when you reboot or shutdown. you won't have to need to load up the display again, it just load up when you run the gdesklets :) hope this helps you, feel free to ask more question :) Screenshot of broken monitor - lytez - 2004-01-09 Spread the word! gDesklets are it! Screenshot of broken monitor - anyweb - 2004-01-27 ok i got the rpm installed it fine... then followed the rest of what you said but it doesnt do anything for me see my code below Code: [anyweb@localhost anyweb]$ gdesklets /home/anyweb/rpms/gdesklets/GoodWeather/GoodWeather.display any ideas ? Screenshot of broken monitor - anyweb - 2004-01-27 erm, now it worked, thanks vemon, you have to click on the red hat, acessories/more accessories/gdesktlets FIRST thanks ! but its still messed up check out my screen eek <a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/post-11-1075205791.png" data-fileid="53"></a> Screenshot of broken monitor - Lem0 - 2004-01-27 o_O:) Hilarious... Screenshot of broken monitor - anyweb - 2004-03-01 hmm i'm having problems with gdesklets again i did an up2date and one of the things it updated was the DM since then gdesklets appears to start but i dont see anything, so i hopped onto the rpm links above, download 0.26 version of gdesklets and did Code: [root@localhost root]# rpm -Uvh /home/anyweb/downloads/gdesklets-0.26-0.rhfc1.dag.i386.rpm it installed fine as you can see, i then did Code: [anyweb@localhost GoodWeather]$ ./Install_GoodWeather_Sensor.bin and that said 'its ready to use' and all seems fine, but now when i click on the redhat/accessories/gdesklets all i get is a gdesklets icon in the system tray beside my up2date icon (see screenshot) so... what am i doing wrong here ? i'm running fedora core release 1 cheers anyweb <a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/post-11-1078130945.png" data-fileid="77"></a> Screenshot of broken monitor - Oroshi - 2004-03-05 the running as gdesklets is a moe like a deamon which is running in background. once you got it running, then you need to run the .diaply like: gdesklets /home/venom/diaply/goodweather.display that's all, so the goodweather will show up on your desktop |
