can't start X in Slackware - StingBear - 2004-06-28 When I try to start X, my screen goes black for a second, but then it goes back to the console. Here's some of the things it says: Fatal server error: no screen found XIO: fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0" after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining. Why is this happening? I could start X with that basic GUI-thing, but that wasn't very useful.. o_O StingBear can't start X in Slackware - hijinks - 2004-06-28 did you config X first? can't start X in Slackware - StingBear - 2004-06-28 No.. I just chose what GUI to use (KDE) in the install program. I thought that would be enough. But anyway, I've installed Mandrake now, and it workes just fine. Gonna try out SUSE too. So just disregard this topic.. :) StingBear PS.
