loosing network connectivity - loonaK - 2007-01-23 Hello everybody I have a futjitsu Siemens machine with 2 network interfaces, one is integrated, the other is external. I have installed linux redhat 9.0 and correctly configured both cards. when I start the network services everything goes fine, but after a short period (5 mn or 10 mn) I loose the connections, meaning that I can no longer reach internal and external networks (using the ping tool) :( . When I run ifconfig, I remark that both interfaces are up and I also remark a collision rate of 83 and 74 for both interfaces . When I run service network status, I find that the network services are running. The problem is not solved untill I restart the network services. You may guess that after 5mn, I loose the connecions, and so on Does someone have an idea about the cause of this problem and how may I overcome it Thank you very much loosing network connectivity - xDamox - 2007-01-23 Hi, I would suggest checking the logs on your machine maybe have a look at the /var/log/messages also I would suggest upgrading your Linux to maybe Fedora as Redhat 9 is no longer supported. |
