Old FC4 server - cyris - 2007-08-09 Hey everyone, I'd like to upgrade our old FC4 server to FC7, however this machine is our production mail server/web server. I can have a few hours of down time but I'd rather not rebuild from scratch. Can I upgrade from yum or the install DVD ? Old FC4 server - anyweb - 2007-08-10 the best advice is first backup. once you've backed up everything important take the upgrade (via yum) this way. fcr4>fcr5>fcr6>fc7 it involves a lot more work but it'll work better than jumping directly from fcr4 to f7. details of how to yum upgrade (linux-noob.com was recently upgraded from fcr4>fcr5>fcr6) can be found here https://www.linux-noob.com/forums/index.php...ic=2495&hl= cheers anyweb Old FC4 server - cyris - 2007-08-10 Thanks anyweb, I'll Image the machine before I do so. |
