noob newbie... - Dudes_Subzero - 2007-09-11 Ok... im trying to install xmms-1.2.10, the mp3 player...yeh so, i get to the ./configure stage and i get "checking for gawk... no" so i try to install "gawk-3.1.5" and i get "checking for bison... no" and "checking for byacc... no", so i try to install bison-2.3 and guess what i get......"checking for gawk... no", im so stumped, man i soo want to learn how to use linux, i dont want to run the risk of being called a n00b, but i do admit that i thought i knew alot about computers, give me xp or vista anyday, but once i saw how much better linux is "supposed" to be, i wanted to change, so please please help!!
