This is all down to how Fedora/SuSe has setup your X configuration file. If you can load up suse still .. grab the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and transfer it to your Fedora system.   If not then try and find the specs for your Card/Monitor and give them here.. I will give you an example xorg.conf to work from.
