try the following as root Code: cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf.backup /etc/X11/xorg.conf answer yes to overwrite, then reboot the computer does it work now ? cheers anyweb |

Ill try to do another yum update.. I'm currently taking a Linux class in school and Fedora Core2 is the distro they gave us to work with. Unfortunately it wasn't always like this.. It happened after the school had a power outage. Even the teacher couldn't figure out what went wrong. He suggested it has something to do with a free86 file.. Not quite sure what he was talking about. So I decided to look for help elsewhere. |

was it always like this for you ? did you try to yum update ? as root do this Code: yum -y update however, as fedora core 2 is no longer supported you may not get much listed please give us more details and why are you not using fedora core release 4 or 5, 5 is the current release cheers anyweb |

My startx won't start... I adjusted my /etc/X11/xorg.conf also ran the setup command.. with no luck The screen says Could not init font path element unix/:7100. removing from list! Fatal server error: could not open default font 'fixed' Please consult the The X.Org Foundation support at [/url][url=http://wiki.X.Org]http://wiki.X.Org for help. Please also check the log file at "/var/log/Xorg.0.log" for additional information. XIO: fatal IO error 104 (Cponnection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0" after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining. Don't know what else to do. |
