Here's my new Desktop with Fedora15. Gnome3. Kind reminds me a bit of mac osx.

What do you think? I like fedora better as a desktop then centos, but I still

need to get used to the new look of gnome.

Looking great! Is that the stock Gnome in the new Fedora?

What you mean Stock Gnome? Just gnome3 the new version of gnome:

I meant just the version of Gnome that comes with Fedora 15, with no modifications. Apparently, it is! Looking great -- I might have to give Fedora a play again if I can find some time. Also trying to schedule in an upgrade of my desktop machine to either the new Linux Mint 11 or Ubuntu 11.04, you see! :)

Yeah Fedora looks pretty nice and works good. But Just switched back to Debian because I do like stability

and I like it that they only release a new version every 2 years. With fedora and ubuntu having an upgrade

every 6 months I find annoying cuz I tend to upgrade every new release when it's not even necesarry to.

i'm still on fedora 14, but might switch soon to f15

can i still use normal gnome in f15 ?

You can't use normal gnome on f15.but I tried installing f15 on my laptop and grahics card wouldn't support it so you can use fallback mode. looks kind more like normal gnome. You can also activate fallback mode manually. Check the articles below.

check this forum post and this article

Although I switched back to Debian now :)

hmmm that's a bit of a concern, i really do like the normal gnome, i've been using it for years and its always looked the same (more or less)

I'll see if i'm feeling adventurous in the future and report back, meanwhile sticking with F14

You can always try running it virtually with virtualbox. I ran virtually F15 first, and because virtualbox can't handle the normal F15 graphics it automatically switch to

fallback mode. Then when it does that you can see how you like fallback mode. Just an idea :)

good point, i'll check it out virtually first !

cheers
