So uhhh - plan on seeing/hearing a lot of me - hehe - cuz im not stoppin till i get what i want, and all i want now is to get this damn pcmcia card working - lol ;)

welcome to the forum man, not sure what kinda music you make but have fun finding working software , I've noticed linux seems to come up a little short in this area. My roommate is a dj and that reason alone is the about the only thing keeping his system in duel boot status. Nevertheless glad to see ya here.
