Okay, I'm a total newbie, but I insist on learning linux. I wanted to try it out onlive cd first, so I downloaded and burned Knoppix.
When I boot into Knoppix I get: "not enough memory to start kde, 82 mb required."
then: "using tmw windowmanager instead. Not all programs in the left-mousebutton-menu will work here."
I am running an Intel with2.70Ghz, 248 mb ram
Hd has 121 Gb free space.
Anyone have any suggestions?
what video card in your box ? if its an intel onboard, check your bios, you may be able to allocate more system ram to the video card, try that and reboot into knoppix
good luck
cheers

sometimes knoppix cannot detect the full amount of RAM in your system. you can use the so called
Cheat Codes to try to specify the amount of RAM.
For instance:
Hope that helps.
