i'm all for it,
something along the lines of an onjoin message from linuxnoob (the bot) which says something like this

i wonder what bot is recording those details ;)
do you want to try writing a script for one of your bots to do an onjoin msg, nothing to long though, don't wanna scare the noobs
and it must point out
1. 'friendly linux channel'

No need, millions of tcl scripts exist so we can just find one and slap it on a bot, in fact we could even add it to a client (irssi can do onjoin messages with a simple script). So lets figure out who is the most stable :P
