hello everybody.
I'm an advanced user... in windows lol.. I've been using windows since Windows 98 So i have many many questions.
I have just installed Fedora Core 8, this are my specifications:
- AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1.8 Mhz
- 512 Mb DDR ram (i use to have 1 GB, but one memory get trucked up)
- GeForce 7300 GS
- And an ASUS MB.
btw... i use the software in the spanish version, so i may not translate all the panel and menu options, ok?
Now... I want to use the Desktop effects. I just go to system-> preferences -> visual-du-no-wa and du-no-who-> Desktop efects, then, clic in Activate Desktop Effects, and... Desktop effects could not be enable.
Reading in previous pages i find that the newest nvidia controller must be installed, ok. How to install? I find that first i need to install or configure or something, the "livna".
To do so i go to the terminal and writed (as a super user):
rpm -Uvh http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-8.rpm
Then... install the controller or whatever with:
yum install kmod-nvidia
Now that all is installed i go to "desktop effects" again and... Desktop effects could not be enable.
How is that?
